In search of ghost writer on percentage deal.

Fri Jul 3, 2009, 11:48 AM
Hi all,

I want to put down to paper my life story and i need someone to ghost write this book as i'm no writer.

She ( or he ) must be a good writer, have good interviewing skills, the ability to ask good questions in order to draw out the best aspects of a story while keeping my voice as much as is humanly possible.

I cannot pay a flat rate but what i'm looking for is for a sharing of future royalty. I understand that it is a bigger risk for the writer but i am confident that the results will be rewarding.

I would prefer someone with experience and of course you would need to be queer friendly. Your name will be on the cover in a " as told to by so and so by me " or some such arrangement.

warm hugs,

Joëlle

I draw and paint in what is called a figurative style, I prefer painting in oils and soft pastels for the most part. I’ve studied for about five years in a private Art School in Montreal and absorbed a wealth of technical knowledge and this has allowed me to evolve as an artist. For me, it is essential to be able to broach topics sometimes deemed taboo or not for polite company, I make no apologies, this is who I am.

Subject matter varies (still-life, landscape, portrait, etc.) dependent on what captivates my attention at the time. Sometimes, I paint what I see, with no special message and at other times, I paint the socially unacceptable, the raw experiences of life, especially in regards to violence against women. I cannot see myself using my talent as an artist without giving voice to what I feel matters.

I am coming into my own as an erotic painter and hope to share my art at many erotic shows throughout the world in the coming months and years. I want to show what simply is without judgment. Sensuality and sexuality, the erotic are beautiful components of humanity, the subtle heat in someone's eyes, the sultriness of lips, the sensual curves of a woman's body, all speak of the promise of happiness and joy, of discovery and play. For me, painting the female erotic is an act of pure feminism, it's my way of going against the flow of hatred and bigotry and violence in our world. I have no erudite narrative about my path as an artist nor do I feel compelled to invent one. I am an artist and I am communicating my particular and unique point of view.

Of course, my being a feminist and queer woman greatly influence how is see the world around me and i’m glad for it. I love the vibrancy of what the Impressionists brought the world, I am also a fan of Rembrandt and the old school masters. I find myself influenced by the strong women in my life and throughout history and try to honor this through what i paint.

I have had few awards for my work, mainly due to my not seeking them out. I have been awarded first prize for technique and composition at the school I studied in and also received an honorable mention at a rather large art show in Montreal, I think it was at the Place Bonaventure Hotel. Other than those, I have mainly been busy selling directly to clients. One of my paintings is in the private collection of the Blake family (Mr. Toe Blake’s daughter), another is hanging from the wall of a private College (Collège Français) in the Montreal area and many more have found homes all over the province, in Ontario as well as in the U.S.A. and even as far as Greece.

I am now living in the Lanaudière region of the province of Quebec and painting to my heart’s content. I’m hoping to share my art with all.

I just went on a Joëlle fave spree, don't know why I haven't faved these before and more (I used some self-restraint, as I could have faved almost all of them). Some of your best paintings images are kind of small, wish they were larger to see them better on screen. Wonderful gallery Joëlle.

Thank you Barrie. The quality of images are better there and allows one to get a better idea.
This sounds like a sensible approach, as your personal site is less likely to be abused than dAs.

Barrie,

What can i say, i love drawings and i especially enjoy them when well rendered. I used to do a fair amount of live model drawing and would spend hours upon hours doing only that. I am a lover of lines :)
